Padma Bhushan Kamala Hassan



Proud to be an Indian. India is a country with great talents in various many fields. While legions await to be honoured, I am honoured that I have been chosen for Padma Bhushan by my government. I think it is sheer chance and my good fortune that I have been chosen. I hope that I would live long to do more to deserve this award. I don’t consider this an honour for work that I have already done. This would be an impetus for me to do more good work, perhaps only then would I deserve it. My heartfelt congratulations to the other Padhma Bhushan awardees especially my friend Mr.Vairamuthu. 

வணக்கம், பல்துறைகளிலும் திறமை கொழிக்கும் நாடு நம் நாடு, முக்கியமாக நான் பணியாற்றும் துறையில் தகுதியானவர்கள், திறமையாளர்கள் பலரும் இருக்கையில் என் பெயர் பத்மபூஷன் பட்டியலில் இடம் பெற்றது எனக்கு கிடைத்த பெரும் பேராக நான் கருதுகிறேன். அரசுக்கு நன்றி, தேர்வாளர்களுக்கு நன்றி இந்த பட்டத்திற்க்கு தகுதி உள்ளவனாக இனிமேல்தான் நான் ஆகவேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணம் என்னுள் இருக்கிறது, நன்றி இந்தியாவிற்கு, நன்றி அன்பிற்கு. பத்மபூஷன் விருது பெற்ற மற்ற சாதனையாளர்களுக்கும் என் மன்மார்ந்த வாழ்த்துக்கள் முக்கியமாக என் நண்பர் வைரமுத்து அவர்களுக்கு.

Tamannah is the backbone of veeram - Says director Siva



Tamannah is back in K’town after a long hiatus with Ajith’s forthcoming Pongal offering, 'Veeram'. The movie releasing, on January 10, directed by Sirutthai Siva, revolves around Thala who plays Vinayagam. His four haughty brothers are portrayed by Vidarth, Bala, Munish and Sohail. The technical crew sans the entire cast recently met the press. “It’s a wholesome family entertainer,” says Siva who found Ajith’s salt and pepper looks perfectly appropriate for the script. “I had conceived of a rough-and-tough, untamed character in Vinayagam. Hence, I retained his look in 'Veeram' as well. Ajith is being cast in a rural role after a long time,” he points out.
